Anyone that knows me knows that: 1. I do stay up late on school nights (okay, work nights now) and 2. I do not go out in public often. I'm breaking both of those tonight to go to the midnight showing of Harry Potter. I'm not even a Potter fan, I just have to see each one once so that I know what my sister is talking about. Plus, it's British, so I have fun understanding the lingo that I sometimes get to explain to my sister later. I remember asking years ago if there was any snogging, and she didn't know the word... until she finally read it in one of the books! *grin* I hear there may be some in the movie as well.

Has anyone seen it yet? Any good?

Let's see how I do tomorrow. *grin* I already have everything set that I'm going into work late tomorrow and staying late for a meeting (that worked out beautifully), so I don't even need to use too much of my vacation time. I think I'm going to try to take a nap before I need to go.... highly doubt it, but I'll try.

I love being on vacation. I went to the 11:40 showing of the movie... earliest time there was. There was maybe a dozen people in the audience. I was so thrilled to hear the beginning sounds of the theme play as the movie began.

It was an okay story. Don't think it was worth the hype of being so secretive though. If you're that secretive, it should be spectacular. Instead... it was a typical movie, which was okay.

massive and mega spoilers for the movie, so if you don't want to know, don't look!!! Seriously, I'm talking about all my favorite and not favorite parts, so there will not be a lot of surprises for you if you dare look. )

Edit: After reading the articles of Nothing extraordinary about "X-Files" movie and Little to believe in with new 'X-Files' movie, I have to say that I totally and utterly agree with both of these reviews. Sadly. This is gonna mean no more movies 'cause I don't see this one getting repeat views. Fans of the show should definitely see it for nostalgia if nothing else, but, I'm very glad I went to the matinee.

*sigh*

So this article was published by the Associated Press...

In a May 13 review of "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian," The Associated Press, relying on production notes from Walt Disney Pictures, reported that the film was an adaptation of the second book in C.S. Lewis' series.

"Prince Caspian" was chronologically the second book to be released in the series. But after more of the series was written, it became sequentially the fourth book.

It IS the second book! Book five and six, aka The Horse and His Boy and The Magician's Nephew are supposed to be later, since it's out of the normal four book storyline of the first four. In my opinion, throwing those other two in to make Prince Caspian number four is just ridiculous and would be utterly confusing to new readers.

*takes deep breath* This issue just really annoys me and I may be a wee bit passionate about it. Okay, very passionate about it. *grin*

I was reading this post over at [info]doctorwho, which shows a picture of some books on a shelf that will be in an ep. What got me interested were the comments about how they were not in alphabetical order, and how people organize their things.

This got me thinking of how I do it as well. I would never think to organize my books alphabetically by title. Then I realized that this was mostly due to the fact that my books tend to be in series. They are organized first by genre, then author, and then chronologically by series. At least, as much as they can be in the limited space in my room.

Now DVDs are another matter entirely. They MUST be alphabetical... AFTER being organized by genre. *hehe* I have them broken out into Action/Adventure, Animation/Cartoon, Austen (Jane gets her own section *grin*), Christian, Comedy, Drama, Musicals, SciFi/Fantasy, Shakespeare (he also gets his own section), Star Trek (movies stay with the TNG series), and Veggietales (because I have the whole series, so they must have their own section).

Except for the series of Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, and Veggietales, which are in chronological order of release... everything else must be in alphabetical order. And that way, I always know where to find whatever I am looking for.

And in case I can't remember where it might be... I created a database with all the pertinent information so that I can find it. *hehe*

I am such a geek.

It comes out this Friday and will be a must see. As a life long fan of C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, which includes Prince Caspian: Return to Narnia, the the movie version will be a must see as well. Might even be better as the book was my least favorite of the seven, but they seem to have solved that problem in filming. *grin*

( CLICK HERE TO THE OFFICIAL SITE! )

The reviews all look wonderful...

  • Success weighs on Narnia's return to U.S. theaters
  • "Narnia" casts a darker spell in 2nd installment
  • Review: New 'Narnia' is both darker and funnier

spoilers for difference in book and film and things mentioned in articles - no spoilers on ending )

In conclusion, I'm excited for this movie and thrilled that they are making them in the right order! *grin*

I got a new Veggietales, which is kinda a recap of all kinds of old ones. But, anyway Lessons from the Sock Drawer has one of my favorite shorts in it called "The Story of St. Patrick". I think it's so cute that there is humor for the big people as well as the wee ones, and even though they take a bit of liberty on the actual history, it's a nice piece of church history. *grin*

    You can watch it here.

I just bullied my mother into going to Barnes and Noble to get this movie. This is because she took my copy and hasn't returned it in over a year. I'm not sure who owes who more now... me for making her get dressed and go to the store so I can get her discount, or her for not giving me back my movie for a year. *grin*

So, I celebrated Easter today (though, I'm thinking I may celebrate next month too with the Orthodox *grin*). This meant that I actually dressed up for church. Had a nice flowing white skirt that flies prettily when I twirl.

Now, this is important because I also just bought Enchanted, which I adore. And while I usually change out of my Easter outfit once I get home, I was feeling quite carefree and... cartoony. *grin* So I've spent the rest of the day skipping around the house like a fairy tale maiden... and I didn't even mind the chuckles I got from my family for it.

I've never been one to try to be a damsel in distress looking for a prince... if anything, I wanted to be Belle and would totally take the Beast in exchange for that awesome library *grin*... which is why I think I like Enchanted so much. She gets to go on an adventure and learn things of the real world while still holding onto hope that everyone needs to keep a piece of. Anyway, it is a very cute movie, and I recommend it.

And now, it is time for bed to dream of happily ever afters, and for those of you that have Easter today, Happy Resurrection Sunday! *grin*

I am getting very excited about Prince Caspian. It may have been my least favorite of the seven books, but the movie may change that. I loved watching the trailer and realizing what part each piece was. Caspian seems a bit old, but I think I'll let it go since he does get older in the next two books, so it'll help to have the same actor play each one. And we'll get to see Reepicheep! I do love him more when we get to see him in The Voyage of the "Dawn Treader", but with the way that movies have been advancing, I'm eager to see how they bring him to life.

I'm also thrilled that they are doing this thing right. They are going in the original order. The books these days have everything messed up, which really annoys me. I want to get another copy, as mine have been loved to death, almost... but I will never buy a set that says The Magician's Nephew is first. That sort of information is not to be known until you read (or see) five other stories.

It makes me want to vid The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I do have a song that has been prodding me to do it, however, it would be time intensive since I have not clipped that at all. And since time has precluding me from trying to finish my last endeavor, I really can't do this one. Seeing the movie may change my mind though. *grin*

Supposedly, I can embed the trailer in this... but I can't see it. If you can, let me know.

I just put in my Ocean's Thirteen and saw THIS PREVIEW.

As I watched, I stared at the man in the tux in a phone booth and went... that looks like Steve Carell. And then came the tag line: Steve Carell Is Maxwell Smart.

To which I had two reactions: 1) Oh yeah, Steve Carell can definitely do Maxwell Smart... followed quickly by 2) There's gonna be a Get Smart movie?!?!?!? When??!?!? I almost had to use utterly insane caps and misspellings with that one, so much was my glee.

    The synopsis is as follows:

synopsis cut for flist sake )

*hehe* So, then after my glee over Steve Carell, I start squeeing over the name of Masi Oka!

The only thing I'm a bit worried about is that Anne Hathaway playing Agent 99. In the TV show, Maxwell Smart and Agent 99 start out with a lot of UST. However, with a 20 year difference between Carell and Hathaway, that's a little, uh, eewww, to me. But, from the synopsis, they've changed the plot a bit, so maybe they can change that too. I hope. Oh, I'm so excited for June now! *grin*

First of all... Transformers is just all kinds of awesome. Watching it in surround sound is just absolutely perfect. *grin*

Next, if you haven't seen the newest edition of Torchwood Babiez for today over at [info]tw_babiez, you MUST. You will die from cutest, but it is totally worth it.

And it helps me not to be too bummed out over the fact that I still haven't gotten my package from Who North America. How long does it it take for a package to get here from Indiana? It's hit the credit card, I want my books (and eventually S3) in my hot little hands! They're 'Decide Your Destiny' books... I want to decide my destiny! *grin*

Now... I need to watch Spider-man 3 for the first time. Well, I'm be watching the first half, then Pushing Daisies, and then finishing it off.

And then hopefully tomorrow, I can continue work on my vid. *grin*

For anyone who has attempted to watch the Shakespearean version of A Midsummer Night's Dream and may have had to watch with closed captioning on to figure out what in the world they meant... this movie is for you.

Keeping the 'integrity' of the story, with faeries and all, you get to watch Riley and Shakespeare (*hehe* I love staring at the screen going, "I know I've seen them before!") play James and Puck, respectfully. I have to say, I adored seeing Puck and then going: "Hold on, I know that voice." *pause to think* "You played Shakespeare! Oh, the irony!" And, yes, that is what I said. *hehe*

I'm so glad I got Shakespeare Retold. I've been waiting for so long for it to get over here. (It came out in July, and I never knew it!) I almost started watching the new show Life since it had Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing in it. I say 'almost' because it's at 10pm, and I do have to sleep sometimes, so... it didn't stick.

I do watch Bionic Woman with EastEnder's Michelle Ryan, though I know her better as playing with Billie Piper in Mansfield Park. Hmm... I need that DVD as well.

However, back to the topic on hand. I was very happy with this movie, as I was with Much Ado About Nothing and The Taming of the Shrew. Last one to see now is MacBeth. Since I've never seen or read the original, it shall be interesting...

So, I got home today, grabbed the mail and let the dogs out. As they did their thing, I went through the massive amount of magazines that inevitably find their way to my house for my mum. It's the holiday edition of... EVERYTHING. But one particular catalog caught my eye. BBC America Shop.

Needless to say, I about attacked my mum as she came home asking why she was getting that. She didn't know but flipped through the book landing straight on a page dedicated to Doctor Who. "Oh no," she says, "you must love this."

    "Uhhuh," I reply happily.

"Well, dog-ear what you want then for Christmas presents."

"I already have." *hehe* Top of the list... a remote controlled K-9. Forget the Dalek, I want that!

"Of course, you probably need to have everything now," she says.

"Just one thing," I replied. Shakespeare Retold is available!!! I've been waiting forever for this. So, of course, I check Barnes and Noble. Supposedly in stock. I call Barnes and Noble. Not in stock. He asks if I want to order. I say no, then as I'm about to hang up, he says, WAIT! I'm still here! He checked the wrong section and went through a box of British stuff. Lo and behold, there it be! Saved for me, and in my hands within the hour. *hehe*

I'll have to wait til tomorrow to watch though as the premiere of Pushing Daisies is on tonight. If I can manage to get away from the Red Sox Game 1 tonight at 6:30... which my brother has been chanting endlessly since he got home from work.
