Hello, internet denizens! I've come out of hibernation for the moment, testing the waters, so to speak. *grin* We'll see if I can keep up the trend or if this is a rare occurence.

What has brought me out of my den? Well, for some strange reason, I feel compelled to discuss my embarrassment with the world. I'm not sure why. Maybe I'm hoping to find another such odd soul as myself. You see, I got suckered into watching a Hannah Montana marathon last night. *sheepish grin* Yes, last time I checked I was 27, not 12, but thus the embarrassment of liking this little show.

spoilers for last night's episode )

In other TV news, now that it's the summer and shows are on hiatus, I've been able to continue my quest of having my father watch Farscape. I think we'll be done before the summer is up. We're up to Prayer now, so only 5 episodes and a movie to go! I wanted to watch a few this weekend when I vacations with my folks, but as my mother is not a fan of the "farting alien show", I didn't want her to watch the ones even more twisted then normal. *hehe*

[info]vanriot84 also gave me some lovely spoilers about upcoming Doctor Who specials, so I've been thrilled beyond belief. Feel free one and all to spoil me to their hearts' content since I have been lax to research as of late.

Well, my new kittens are asking for attention and trying to walk on the keyboard, so I shall leave you for now. *grin*

I admit, I had no interest in Stargate SG-1. None at all. Tried to watch. Got bored. Forgot about it for years.

Then came the familiar faces. Just the other day, after watching some Farscape with my dad, he turned on the SciFi Channel and said, "Hey, wait, there's Farscape."

"Nope, that's SG-1," I told him.

"But, it has them," he says, seeing "John" and "Aeryn".

"Yeah, they both moved over to that show."

"Before or after Farscape?"

"They moved over after. "Crichton" first, then "Aeryn"." (Edit: I inadvertently lied to my father...)

"What's her name now?"

"Ummm, I don't really know. I know he's Cameron Mitchell."

Which shows that I've watched about two episodes of this show because they are on. So now, when it's on SciFi, I actually leave it on.

It happened again today. It was on. I saw my peeps on there and stopped to watch. And what happens? I gasp. Andromeda! From Andromeda was on there as well!! All three of them together in the same episode! And... of course, I had to leave ('cause this is better than writing another 'bored' post). Grrr. Does anyone know if "Andromeda" is a regular on SG-1? I can't remember the actress' name at the moment, but she was playing a doctor in an episode where Daniel and "Aeryn" (what's her name, it starts with a 'V', right?) had finally gotten those bracelets off.

My dad is so far behind in Farscape. I reminded him that he hadn't watched in a while, so we tried to figure out where he left off. "I remember that he was stuck on this planet by the water, and I remember that he was turned into stone and lost his head and then got it back."

Turns out, he's still in season 2. So we watched an episode, and next up is 'Locket'. I left it in the DVD player, so hopefully it won't be such a long wait in between.

I've missed it. Farscape makes me happy. *grin*

My coworker lent me Battlestar 1980 since we both watch BSG. So, I put it in and immediately went....

*gasp* ADAMA'S GRANDSON IS JOHN CRICHTON'S FATHER! And then my little mixed up fandom starting overthinking things, like John really could have been from far far away. *hehe*

(Also, I gasped that it was Dick van Dyke's son and Oliver from the Brady Bunch there too.) So weird to watch a TV show so old and actually recognize the lead actors. *hehe*

I was looking up a posting I did on Infinite Possibilities since [info]trekkie6 did a posting on it when I decided that I ought to clean up my reaction page to include episode numbers.

So, I go to wikipedia to get the right numbers when I learn about webisodes for Farscape.

It's a really good thing that my sis and I don't share a room anymore. A couple years ago, she would get so annoyed at me as I watched my Lois and Clark DVDs every night before bed. She came to absolutely hate that theme song. This dislike quickly transformed over to Doctor Who when I bought the first series and began playing that nonstop instead. *grin*

Now that I've had my fill of all three series, I've been able to get back to the Lois and Clark. *hehe* And now that we begin to enter the Christmas hiatus, I'll be able to enjoy my TV on DVD for the whole month of December (and part of January as well).

After I finish with my new purchase, I'm thinking of going back to my Star Trek: TNG. It's been a while since I cracked those open. Those were my first TV on DVD. Bought them with my college graduation money. Wow... I've been getting TV shows on DVD for over four years now.

I was just talking the other day of all the shows I have on DVD:

  • Star Trek: TNG (all seven seasons and all 10 movies)
  • Doctor Who (all three series)
  • Farscape (all four season and PKW)
  • Firefly (full season and movie)
  • Lois and Clark (all four seasons)
  • The Office (all three seasons)
  • Heroes (season 1)
  • Due South (season 1)
  • Joan of Arcadia (season 1)
  • Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys (season 1... this was on sale)
  • Yes, Minster and Yes, Prime Minister (all series)

Hmmm... maybe I do watch too much television...

So, the scaping of my father is moving along nicely. My mum and sis are gone for the weekend, and the first think I think of is... the balance of power of the geeks in the house has just shifted. My bro is now the other nonSci-Fi geek left, so two against one, we are watching Farscape this weekend!! *hehe*

Thus, we watched The Flax and Jeremiah Crichton last night.

The highlight was when I had to explain dren, after D'Argo said, "You smell like dren. You look like dren." *hehe* I decided to go the easiest straightforward way and turn to him very seriously and said: "Dren is crap." *hehe*

I did catch something that I didn't the first time:

Zhann: I still care about Crichton, but the only reason this search drags on is because of the guilt in your own hearts.
D'Argo: My hearts are private places; stay out of them.

D'Argo has hearts plural? D'Argo has hearts! *hehe* There's another alien I know with multiple hearts... *squees at the connection*

So...I'm home! And I decided that I love going out with just my parents. I've figured out that it is the only time that Sci-Fi geeks out vote non-Sci-Fi geeks. Case in point...here are some of the conversations that went on this weekend.

Parents went to visit friend in the next camper. I stayed behind reviwing Doctor Who and writing my latest fic

Mum: Well, we missed over there tonight.
Me: That's okay, I was quite productive.
Dad: *leaning over my bed* Very productive watching, Doctor Who, eh?
Me: It was research! I was writing my fic.
Mum: Oh no, not that show again!

Lunch time, I'm watching the Premiere of Farscape on my computer when my dad says lunch is ready. I bring my computer with me, so he can watch. I restart the episode since he's never seen it.

Dad: *watching confused until we reach the credits* Oh! What is this?
    Me: Farscape
Dad: I thought you were putting in Doctor Who. You have to tell me these things!
Me: Okay. You already watched Doctor Who. You have to wait for July for that. We're watching Farscape!
Mum: *comes into room* Oh no, you're watching this again?
Me: It's not Doctor Who! It's Farscape!
    Mum: *shakes her head sadly*

The next morning. My dad has now watched three more episodes on his own during the day.

Me: *looking at my Dad* See, I told you that you'd like Farscape. *turns to my Mum* And it's great 'cause he laughs at all the same places I do. Like Rygel farting the helium.
Dad: *starts laughing* It was funny since they all started talking really high.
Mum: Another show with farting aliens?! Is that what they all do?
Me: No. You see in Doctor Who...
Mum: Oh, she's actually going to explain it. You know when I say that I don't actually want an explanation.
Me: I know, but you see, they were in skin suits!
Mum: Is this with the little frog guy?
    Me: No, that's Farscape.
Dad: Who farts the helium. *He laughs again.*
    Mum: I don't care! I don't care!
Me: You really should watch season 2. There are no Raxicoricofallapatorians there! No farting aliens!
Dad: There's no more farting helium?
Me: Oh, there definitely more helium farting on Farscape, just no more on Doctor Who.
Mum: *sighs* I feel pity that you talk that way. No more talking about this.
Dad: Hold on, let's take a vote. Who wants to still talk about this? *Dad and I raise hands* The ayes win, shall we record the nay votes?
    Mum: *shakes head in defeat*
    Me: *giggles shamelessly*

I have now finished watching Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars.

Okay, here are the little quirks that seemed off. Recasting the Sebacean Nurse into the PWK after I watched one practically after another... I could tell it was her. *laugh* And...was something up with the voice modulator for Pilot? He seemed off. And it drove me crazy every time he spoke. And the Scarron chick's face was off to...but I could be wrong on that one.

I also wanted to point out that this definitely has the movie feel aspect to it, most likely due to a bigger budget. *grin* All in all, I loved it. And now...

John/Aeryn: FINALLY! *hehe* Only took 3 wedding ceremonies, eh? And, it seemed totally appropriate for Aeryn to give birth in the midst of fighting. She couldn't have it any other way.

Rygel: Kudos for carrying baby Crichton for a while. *grin* Just perfect as he was crying saying that he missed the baby.

Chiana: New eyes! They seem to work really well. She seems to have grown up quite a bit too. Good for her.

D'Argo: The big ol' teddy bear til the end. *sniffs* Alas, poor D'Argo...but he died valiantly.

Jool: Had to kill her off to, didn't they? The point in that?

Stark: I liked Stark in this! He wasn't creepy at all. Totally redeemed himself for all the times I thought he was during the series.

Noranti: Was the crazy old woman even in this movie? *hehe* I did find it funny when John asked if she had a gun...

Sikozu: I never liked her. I wasn't disappointed to find out she was a spy. Kinda made more sense why she was hanging around Scorpy, 'cause, that was just...yuck.

Harvey: Goodbye, Harvey! Good times of laughs you were. But, I'm happy to see you go along with the wormhole knowledge for John's sake.

Scorpius: He was the happiest one there at the peace treaty. That was his end game? Wow. He has a horrible way of going about it Mr. Play-Both-Sides-So-No-One-Has-A-Single-Clue-What-Side-You-Are-On-Ever.

Moya and Pilot: Except for the voice thing that was throwing me off, gotta love Moya and Pilot always coming through. *grin*

Braca: Gets an honorable mention from me since he turned out to want the best in this whole endeavor, even though that meant loyalty to Scorpius.

And last, but certainly not least...

D'Argo Sun Crichton: Little D...welcome to the universe. You've got the most danger-prone parents in this and many galaxies. Life will never be dull. *hehe*

So, yea that they finally get together, but then they give a "to be continued" on a cancellation?!?! Did they know they were going to make PKW when they did that?

I've already watched five episodes today, so I don't think I'm going to get to PWK until later in the week, but...I can see why everyone was in an uproar to save it!

I made a beautiful discovery last night. I love Television Without Pity, and especially Jacob since he recaps both Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who, which I read every time. And now I found out...Farscape is there too!! At least some of it! *grin*

I'm so excited that I read Kansas and Terra Firma recaps last night even though I oughta been sleeping at that point. *grin* I'd also like to tell my dear Scapers that I do promise not to read any recap of any show I have not watched yet. I'm even trying to avoid the little blurbs about them too. I won't have to do that for long though, I'm already on to 4.3 of the Starburst edition! Mental as Anything is next!

All you Scapers...this is your fault. *grin* I'm completely crazy. I'd like to start off by telling you that I really don't care for Stargate SG-1. I had seen the movie way back in the day, and I attempted to watch it a time or two, but, eh...didn't peak my interest. Then came the Farscape...and that leads to the Ben and Claudia in SG-1's final season running right now. So even though I have absolutely no idea about this show, and no real interesting in going back to see the last 10 seasons...I've been watching this on Friday nights now. *laugh*

Which got me thinking...how did I get into my other Sci-Fi shows?

Star Trek. Purely and utterly my father's fault.

Star Trek: TNG. This was because of Number 1. *grin* Also add DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise.

Earth: Final Conflict. Created by Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star Trek.

Andromeda. Also created by Gene Roddenberry...oh, I'm seeing a theme. *grin*

The Sci-Fi channel helped a lot too. From there, I discovered Doctor Who and Battlestar Gallatica.

Remember, Quantum Leap, The X-Files, Lost in Space, seaQuest DSV, and Sliders?

And then you have the comics, which is rather like the Sci-Fi, like a new favorite Heroes and Smallville.

    Any shows that I've missed?

Edit: Oh, and I just remembered...I started watching The Dead Zone, which I watched because an actress had been on DS9 and it was made by Star Trek producers. *laugh*

Edit Part 2: I forgot to add Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman...which is very silly of me as I own the first 3 seasons. (This is what I was obsessed with watching on DVD until I got Doctor Who. Then...I got distracted and never got back to it. *hehe*)

Can I just say, Ben Browder is just awesome! I love this episode!

First of all, return of PK Tech Girl! I always liked her. It was nice to see Gilina again, even if under horrible situations. And then, the fun begins!

Stark!! Was this really all Stark's fault? From the looks of it, I have the feeling that it really was him doing all this. Especially the way he has been annoying lately.

And boy, I knew that something was amiss, but not sure what when they were going to for the Aeryn princess. Stark said that up was down, so she couldn't have been up there.

I was at first very disappointment with the other Zhann. But, I figured that this was fairy land and they couldn't get the real one, so it would work. But I didn't like this Zhann.

But, soon the leave to enter the world of Monty Python and the Holy Grail and my grin went right back up! And having Rygel as the black knight?!?! ROFL! It was like they cut cut to the part where the Black Knight already had lost all his limbs! *hehe*

And then we end up with Hansel and Gretel! And, I go...Jool!!!! This episode is awesome for all the guest appearances! I love it! However, this whole part is kinda creepy, not really into eating other people. *grin* But D'Argo is always hilarious when he's acting stupid.

Elevator John was...interesting. *laugh* And then, moving on to the Penthouse...

HARVEY! I like Harvey now that he's gone. *laugh* He was also so funny. And Aeryn as a Southern princess. That is hilarious. And I knew the ogre had to be Crais...but it took me a second to actually look at him to see that I was right.

(I know I'm ignoring a whole other subplot, but I'm just talking about this one right now. *grin*)

I wasn't expecting that the Chiana was wrong until John started to. And then my favorite line (because of the way she says it): "Honey, the butler's dead." *hehe* And then I was glad that after the kiss didn't work that he dropped off the castle. Up is down! *grin*

And then comes big Zhann again. "Your world, your princess." This is what makes me think it really is Stark doing this. And, it's Zhann!! It's really Zhann!!

Oh, poor John, it's all about his guilt. But, the ending is so sad. Can't those two just work things out? There is a baby on the way (well, there better be and it better be John Crichton's)!

So, I'm done with season 3, and will be starting into season 4 as soon as I finish writing this. But, I thought I'd give you all my thoughts before resolving my cliffhanger. That's what I like about having all the eps, I'm never left hanging. *grin*

    First things first...

Crais: When did I find that I liked Crais as a character? I have no idea how that snuck up on me! But all of a sudden, he turns around to stab Crichton in the back by telling Scorpy about the plan, and my thoughts were..."Oh, he must have a plan, he's not really turning on John." And then I realized...I'm thinking good of Crais?!? And then he's dead? Isn't that how it always goes?

Talyn: Oh, poor dear Talyn. You were doomed from the start, but you went out with a hero's honor.

John/Aeryn: Oh boy, this is going to be a bumpy road in the next season. You can understand both sides. But John is certainly not going to let another one of his kids go without him around. He'll follow Aeryn to the ends of the universe now.

Jool: I like Jool. She's controlling her screaming a lot more, and I kinda like how she's trying to connect with the crew, especially D'Argo.

D'Argo: He's got his own ship! I'm happy for him. He really needed something that was his own after the let downs he's been going through.

Chiana: I've forgiven her for the torture she put D'Argo through. And I'm really interested in what is causing her to have these visions. Is it a Nebari thing? Will we ever find out?

Rygel: And his tiny shiny heiny! Okay, he recovers from all the annoyances he has caused with that line!

Pilot and Moya: As lovely as ever. And poor Moya with what she has gone through. And what would Pilot and Moya's plans be if everyone left? Due to the fact that there is indeed a fourth season, I am the reasonable assumption that at least some if not all of our main cast is staying onboard, but what does a leviathan and her pilot due without a crew?

Harvey: He's really growing on me. He seems to becoming more detached to what Scorpy is and more like John.

Other Questions: Is Stark ever coming back? Can I get some more vid recs from [info]jagwriter78 and [info]humansrsuperior? Will [info]jagwriter78 finally comment on all my other Farscape postings? Will I stop asking questions and move on to season 4 now? *grin*

I have one phrase for this episode...frelling awesome!!!!

I absolutely adored all of the Looney Tunes animation. It made me giggle all the way through.

And then it came this particular segment...

John: I don't - wanna be like other people. I don't wanna be like you. I don't wanna stoop that low. Kirk wouldn't stoop that low.

Harvey: That was a television show John! And he made Priceline commercials!

ROFL!!! Ah man, Harvey has a point (with the 2nd piece of it)! *hehe* At this point, this is my favorite episode. I was supposed to watch an episode to get me relaxed and go to sleep...this certainly was not the ep to do that! *keeps giggling*
